It's Christmas

Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful Happy New Year.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit my blog, my face book pages, Flickr and my Etsy store this year.

Here's hoping Santa brings me a new camera as my old one has given up on me.

Night Garden and Knitting.

Night Garden and Knitting

Our front garden late at night.

Thrummed Mitts

Knitting thrummed mitts, trying to get more product into my Etsy shop.

Another pair of thrummed mitts underway. These and the above mitts where dyed with food colour dyes.

Blue Heaven Jacket .

As you can see I have a basket of various yarns and balls of fabric. I'm trying to incorporate these into a jacket sweater.  So far I'm liking the result.

 Face cloths.

100% Cotton.

These are just a fun bit of knitting. I love making face cloths, they make a nice small gift.

Apple Pies and Veggies

It's Harvest Time and I love it.

Our neighbours have several apple trees that just go to waste every year. On my walk with the dog I decided to stop in and ask if I could have some of the apples. The apples usually just fall on the ground and go into a bucket and then disappear.

This was the result of my picking the apples that were left on the trees. I had enough to make three pies.
They turned out to be really delicious.

Veggies

My harvest from our small garden.

Chicken Coop Jacket

Cluck, Cluck .

Just when you think you're done.

You get a call from the fabric fairy.  You're not done yet. And so, back to the drawing board I go. Thread and needle in hand , I am called to make two pockets and add a button.
This all makes perfect sense as I need a place to put my house keys, a Kleenex, some dog biscuits and whatever else I need.

So .....  here's the finished jacket, I think.

Some of our plantings in our small garden.

Hi Everyone,

It's been a busy summer.  Hard to believe that fall is here already. I've been canning from our  garden and enjoying our fresh produce.

I have several knitting projects on the go, socks, a sweater and I'm working on a crocheted jacket.

I'm also making stitch markers to sell in my Etsy shop. Now that fall is here I'll start adding items to my shop.

I hope everyone had a good summer and your now enjoying the cooler weather.

Fall is my favourite time of the year.

Hand spun Angora Hat & Canning.

Angora Hat and summer canning.

This is such a busy time of year for me. I've been doing a lot of canning and baking, something I really love to do. I've always loved canning and it's second nature for me to put up preserves for the winter.

Spinning has taken a bit of a back seat to all my other activities at the moment.
I've had some hand spun angora sitting around and decided to knit a hat. Something simple, a rolled brim and straight knitting. I used an 8mm circular knitting needle, cast on 80 stitches and it worked up quickly.

Handwoven Cuffs

Making Handwoven Cuffs

I'm in my sewing room today busy making up some new cuffs. Here are a few.

 My sewing room.
Woven bits of material  ready and waiting to be made-up into more cuffs.
Spinning Tip.

Here's a good tip on how to hold your yarn in place on your spinning wheel. I use a velcro circle, and when I'm done spinning the yarn gets placed here.
